White Ribbon Ceremony
Every year on December 6th, the students at Saint-Lambert International gather to remember the 14 women who lost their lives at L’École Polytechnique massacre, which took place in Montreal in 1989. The ceremony allows the students and staff to join together to commemorate the events that have made December 6th unforgettable for many Montrealers. The White Ribbon ceremony allows the school community to pause and reflect on the senseless act of violence that occurred in 1989. For many the simple ceremony raises awareness about the tragedy, for others it sensitizes them about violence and for some, it inspires them to take action.
